Is our primary calling is an obligation or an option?

What is the purpose for which God called us?
The only purpose for which God called us, can be found in Mathew 28:19-20. I do not know that any other assignment that God had given us to fullfill. As I am aware there is no mention of any other assignment than this in the New Teastament. Of course I do agree that there are different elements/actions/activities comes under disciple making such as praying, giving, encouraging one another, comforting one another and so on. All of these are part of disciple making.
And Jesus gave this as a commandment and so it is NOT an option at all. Every Christian must obey to this call. All the rest to be your secondary functions. When I say secondary function it means your job, career, education and so on.
But in today's Christian world. It is reversed to 360 degree. What is mentioned here as secondary became primary and what is supposed to be primary became secondary. How do I say that? For example, You yourself count how much time that you spend in your office, how much time you spend to upskill yourself and compare that with the amount of time you spend in the Church and see for yourself and you will understand. I would say very small amount of time will be spent in Church related activities. Then how do we say that we consider it as primary?
One reason for this is that we take this disciple making is an option and not an obligation. That needs to be corrected. Why? because on that judgement day God is going to ask the report on what He has asked you to do but not on other things.
