Those who scattered Preached the word:
Acts 8:4 says "Those who scattered Preached the word".
Acts 8:1 says great persecution broke out against early Church. People were scattered through out the region of Judea and Samaria. Till this period Christians were living together. As per Acts 2:44 "now all who believed were together nd had all things in common".
They share the love and concern for one another. They even shred the resources. They met every single day. From Acts, chapter we could understand that the Church was a very important one in their life. Though the Bible has not recorded that how many times in a day they met together, but from this chapter we could understand that they were longing for their union. It is very evident that God's love had been poured out in the hearts of every one s that they could live together and share together.
People who lived such great, peaceful and happy life is now scattered. They have to go into all possible directions. They have to travel to different places along with their belongings. It is not an easy thing Suddenly they have to leave from their comfort. They have to run for their life.
At that time the Church had just born. People had just started growing in their faith and teaching. They had hardly get to know what a Christian life is. At that time they did not have the Bible like we have now. For the teaching they have to depend on apostles only. But apostles stayed back in Jerusalem itself. So the early Church people left Jerusalem with what ever God had put in their heart through the apostles. But it is amazing to see, with that they had learnt, they started preaching Gospel to wherever they went.
Imagine the condition of those people. They may be living in the places they went as refugees. They may not have sufficient money, proper food, cloths and shelter. Yet they were not complaining about any of these. They were preaching God's word irrespective of their physical condition.
And what are we doing? We have comfortable job, house and enough money but we do not have the heart to preach the gospel to others. Many of us thinks that it is Pastor's job but you see the early Church. It is the congregation preached the Gospel before the Apostles arrived. Is out heart hunger for sharing God's love with others. Do we even just think that it is our duty to preach the Gospel.
What is blocking us? I think it is the comfort of our life.
Are you ready to throw this comfort and live for Christ even if it cost your life?
